To all the Amicus Attorney 2015 users with maintenance, now called Amicus Advantage, Amicus Anywhere and Client Portal will stop working on April 15th 2016. To insure that you can access your Amicus Attorney data with Amicus Anywhere after that date make sure you install Amicus Attorney 2016 PE before April 15th.
The good news is that with Amicus Attorney 2016 PE you will be able to expose all or some custom fields in you Amicus files. The custom fields exposure also apply to the Amicus Client Portal which now will allow you to create intake forms that your clients can fill out from the comfort of their home with all the document necessary available.
Another feature in Amicus Anywhere that was expanded is the Document module. Now you can preview a document without download it. If you are checking the document out and make changes the added versioning feature will track all the previous version of that document once it is checked in.
One more tweak in Amicus Anywhere is the global search. Type what you are looking for in the top right box and you get your results in a few moments. This is faster than clicking on the letter and the scroll down to a file like in the previous version.
The Amicus Client Portal intake form (by using the custom fields) is ideal for Estate Planing, Probation, Worker Compensation, Personal Injury file types and more. The new feature in Amicus Attorney 2016 is that in the Client Portal you can choose which custom field to expose so that internal dates such as medical record requested/received dates are not visible to the client but only to the firm members.
